Bison

Born in the Alps

About

Bozel 45.4423° N 6.6399° E

The Alps was shouting, it was time someone listened.

Coffee didn't just need to 'get better', it needed to change, entirely. We took things back to the source, starting with fully traceable, exceptional beans, roasted them to perfection and launched them back into the communities that shaped Bison from its very inception. Our shared love for movement, mountains and the great outdoors is the unbreakable bond between Bison and the crowds that walk with us.

Bison is more than just exceptional coffee — Bison is a force for good.

If, like us, you love the mountains and only the finest, speciality coffee will do… then welcome, you're in the right place.

Our commitments

01

Fully Electric

While most conventional roasters still rely heavily on fossil fuels, our 100% electric roaster uses state of the art software, ensuring consistent and reliable batches as economically as possible.

02

Women Coffee

Despite making up roughly 80% of the labour workforce in coffee production, women hold less than 20% of governance positions. Bison's core product — its flagship House Espresso — utilises coffee from the Women Coffee initiative and is grown with 100% women farmers, all of whom receive increased pay, support and resources.

03

Fresh Coffee, Clean Ocean

Where possible, we use coffee beans transported across oceans purely by sail. The FCCO initiative guarantees a carbon reduction of 70–90% versus conventional freight travel when transporting our coffee.

04

Recyclable Packaging

Starting up still means starting right. Despite the challenges of steep pricing, vast minimum order quantities and extended lead times, recyclable packaging has been a non-negotiable from day one.

05

One Percent For The Planet

Bison is a One Percent For The Planet member, committing 1% of our profits to businesses and organisations helping people and the planet.

Everyone is welcome

While we hustle for superior taste, our brilliant stockists share our vision to create the ultimate coffee drinking experience; from cafes, restaurants and hotels, to ski shops and private chalets, everyone is welcome.
